The SGGS has metaphors of 'vibrating with God' as a nod to the divine nature of music itself. The Sikh Gurus and other Punjabi Sufies and Bhagats held the belief that music has the amazing quality of touching people deeply. The structural foundation of the Guru Granth Sahib is music. I really hope there is an effort to translate it to English as it is very important to have this commentary available to the masses. There is a famous teeka (exegesis) of the Guru Granth Sahib by Professor Sahib Singh but unfortunately, it is in Punjabi only for now.
